I’ve developed this tenacious competitive spirit with every sport I competed in as evident in my high school days, when I was an All-American in football (junior and senior years) and a starting forward on the 1992 Ohio State Championship Team, in basketball (sophomore year) and nominated as a McDonald’s All-American, in basketball (senior year-1994). When patients come in to see me after seeing other health care providers (or as a last resort) that same competitive spirit makes me want to be "the one" who helps them get out of pain/discomfort and help them achieve an improved quality of life.
When I decided to go to chiropractic school there were many obstacles and adversities that I had to face. But I was able to overcome those challenges and persevere. Given my "competitive spirit", achieving my goals and setting new goals after I reach the previous goals that have been

ABOUT DR. SMITH AND HIS ATHLETIC BACKGROUND
WHAT’S IN A NAME?
When naming this practice, I wasn’t very high on naming practices after the founder. But after thinking about the legacy that I wanted to leave to my girls, if they decided to become doctors of chiropractic, this was a "no brainer" for me. I want my daughters to be able to have something that they can be proud of, take pride in, and help build onto this legacy.
My name is Dr. Darren Lamont Smith (chiropractor). I am a chiropractic physician who is an Elite Active Release Techniques (ART) Provider. I was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. I’m a graduated of Lakota High School (1994), the University of Kentucky (Advertising/Journalism-1997), and of Parker College of Chiropractic (2005). I have 2 beautiful daughters.
I attended the University of Kentucky on a full football scholarship (1994-1997), where I was a 4-year letter winner and a 3-year starter. I was appointed, by the coaches as the "True Freshman Captain" (there was only one true freshman appointed to this position). I was also voted on the Leadership Team by my teammates my sophomore and junior years too.

set is my passion. My goal right now is to encourage my patients and others who see benefits in the services our office provides, to help me build a successful chiropractic practice that benefits thousands of people by improving not only their health but their quality of life.
I want to be a difference maker and change people’s perception of doctors in general and specifically chiropractors. I want to restore people’s faith in doctors and ingrain a faith in chiropractic. I want to do right by everyone who comes in my practice. I’ve been taught, and always lived by the saying "treat others the way you want to be treated". Every time I hear, or say this I know this is who I am. My personality and honesty will be "a breath of fresh air" for most of our patients.
As a chiropractic physician being an Elite ART Provider is a great accomplishment considering there are only a selected number of providers of this status in the world, out of thousands of ART providers. Being an Elite ART Provider also provided me the opportunity to be the physician for Mississippi State Track and Field Team (2009 and 2010), and to work with a host of athletes from sports such as swimming, football, basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, MMA, cycling, triathlons, etc. Even now I am currently the also Chiropractic Physician/Elite ART Provider for the University of Virginia Cross Country, Purdue University, and University of Georgia track and field teams. As you can probably tell, I love working with athletes, just as much as the "common person". I love what I do, and can’t wait to treat many, many more.
